Yes, my people the time- or beer shall I say, came and went over 2 months ago. I successfully accomplished my goal of drinking 300 different beers by my 30th birthday. Not going to lie, I got to 300 by the skin of my teeth. Here’s the countdown to the final 9 beers. Enjoy!
#294 Mother Earth Weeping Willow Witbier (ABV 5%)
Orange peel, lemon, coriander, wheat. Not bad, just not my thing. It especially wasn’t my thing when I thought I was being held captive for a boring evening in the mountains, which turned out to be my surprise party. I won’t go through the details, but my bf has a heart of gold for putting up with me.
#296 Avondale Brewing Co. Vanillaphant Porter (ABV 6.2%)
Vanilla, hints of chocolate, coffee. My phone died before I could take the pic, but thumbs up!
#298 Good People Coffee Oatmeal Stout (ABV 6%)
Chocolate, coffee, roasty/smokey flavor, nice hoppy finish. Who knows where the pic is, but I gave it thumbs up!
#299 Monty Python’s Holy Grail Ale (ABV 4.7%)
It wasn’t good. It’s wasn’t bad. It wasn’t anything. I wasn’t expecting anything out of it, so I wasn’t disappointed. More of a “novelty” beer.
#300 Ballast Point Brewing Company Fathom India Pale Lager (ABV 6.8%)
For months my strikingly handsome boyfriend asked if he could pick the 300th beer, reluctantly I agreed. I literally got home at August 4th around 11:56 pm to a beer on the table and 2 Live Crew “Birthday Song” playing on the projector. I couldn’t have asked for a better moment. I didn’t pay attention to any details about the beer. I gave it a thumbs up, because it was the 300th beer.
#301 Boulevard Brewing Co. Dark Truth Stout (ABV 9.7%)
I was too busy basking in the glow of drinking beer 301 to make any notes. I had a thumbs up pic, but I like this one better. It captures the real essence of the night.
If you follow me on IG (@kitwills) you’ve probably already read my s/o after my 300th beer. From the bottom of my heart I appreciate everyone who read and followed my four year adventure. A special shout out to all my friends (and a few strangers) who drank with me, bought beers and shared beers, made recommendations, let me sleep on their couch (my friends, not the strangers). I don’t know what adventured lie ahead, but I haven’t stopped tracking my new beers. A friend suggested I switch over to bourbon, but that will probably be more dangerous than fun. Ha! Cheers ya’ll!
